History of HTML

The journey of HTML is started from 1989 when Tim Berners-Lee work on the development of www. The first Specifications of HTML is introduced in 1991 by Tim Berners-Lee, at that time the HTML language features are very basic, called HTML 1.0.

HTML 1.0 was just developed to have some language which work on text based information sharing. But HTML grows drastically since 1991. HTML Latest Specifications is HTML5 which is introduced in 2014.

There are many HTML Version introduced time to time to upgrade the HTML language. The Table below shows the major HTML Specifications.

The Background of HTML

HTML language is based on the tags, attributes and element syntax, and in every HTML Specifications some features are added and removed.

HTML Latest Version – HTML5

The HTML5 Specifications is introduced in the 2014 and some heavy changes is done in the language in this Specification.

Two minor upgrade is also introduced named as HTML5.1 and HTML5.3 since 2014.
